Official guidance changes. A review date is not a promise that a page will remain current forever. During a live incident, current instructions from the relevant authority, utility, emergency service or professional take priority.
How READY/ uses evidence
Start with authoritative guidance
Use current UK government, regulator, public-safety, utility-network and recognised specialist guidance where it is relevant to the planning topic.
Facts are not prompts
A source-backed fact is kept distinct from a READY/ planning prompt. Questions such as “who would do this?” or “where is this kept?” are organisational prompts, not claims that a public body requires one specific answer.
Do not invent certainty
Numbers, timings and eligibility statements are used only where the source supports them. Where circumstances vary, READY/ should say so rather than imply a universal rule.
Use the current instruction
Prepared material is for advance planning. During an incident, follow the latest instructions for your location and circumstances.
Current source set
The sources below are representative anchors used across the current READY/ material. Individual topics may require additional official or manufacturer-specific information.

What the source review does not mean
“Source-reviewed” does not mean READY/ is issued, approved or endorsed by the UK Government, emergency services, utilities, the Met Office, the Food Standards Agency or the NCSC. It means the relevant factual material is checked against sources such as these and framed as an independent planning aid.
